“The one we’re planning.”
Grandma lifted her eyebrows. Apparently Mia had opened negotiations without me. “We could go in spring,” Grandma said. “Somewhere quiet.”
“South Padre?” Mia asked. The room shifted slightly. Grandma looked at me. I looked at my daughter.
“Maybe,” I said. “But this time, everyone rides together.”
Mia nodded. “And nobody gets left.”
“Nobody.” She went back to her drawing.
