Fifty-One Hours
I know when he was turned.
I know that a nurse called Petra wrote settled at 04:00 on the third and that she wrote it again at 05:00 and that at 06:00 she wrote something else.
I know that the cooling blanket was checked every fifteen minutes for fifty-one hours by eleven different people and that not one of those checks was missed.
And at 7:44 in the evening on the fourth of March, in even years, I sit down in a chair in my front room with the photograph, and I stay there until 9:56.
