Episode 6. SHE WAS NOT HIS LOVER

The woman placed an identification card on the table.

 

“My name is Claire Morgan,” she said. “I’m a private investigator.” I stared at her in disbelief. Then she said something I never expected. “Your husband hired me.” Daniel stepped closer. “I didn’t steal your inheritance,” he said. “Someone has been using my identity.”

Claire handed me several documents. The signatures looked exactly like Daniel’s. But they were fake. My husband had been framed.

I could barely process what I was hearing. “Who did this?” I whispered. Without speaking, Claire placed another photograph in front of me.

I looked down. And instantly felt the color drain from my face.

The person in the picture was someone I loved. Someone I trusted. Someone who had already been inside my home.
