I Kept the Key
My father laid it all out in his own words — the transfers, the lies, the times he had quietly begged his son to stop before it came to this.
And then, near the end, his voice changed.
It softened into something that was not anger at all.
“Mirren never once asked me for money,” he said.
“In all of this, she asked me for exactly one thing — that I let the truth come out lawfully, and in the open, and not go to my grave with it hidden to keep the peace.
