“You were protecting your daughter.”
“I still left her.”
I smiled gently. “No. You made sure she arrived somewhere safe.”
Sabrina reached into the carrier and unfolded the yellow blanket. “I wanted you to recognize it.”
I ran my fingers across the familiar stitches. “I should have recognized it sooner.”
“You recognized the love before you recognized the pattern.”
