Just One Hour
He is twenty-two now. He is in Arizona. He sent a message in 2019 through a social media account and I answered it and he did not answer back, and I have decided that is his right and I check the account about once a month, which is more often than I admit to.
“Two children,” Sabrina said, when I’d finished. “You lost two children.”
“I didn’t lose them. That’s — I want to be careful. You went to your family and Devon went to his mother, and both of those are what’s supposed to happen.
That’s the job. Nobody did anything wrong.”
