She formed a partnership with Louis Joseph Venier, also known as Vagnier, a French-Canadian trapper.
They had a daughter, Marguerite, around 1820.

After Venier’s death, Marie formed a partnership with Jean Baptiste Toupin, a French-Canadian interpreter associated with Fort Nez Perce, another North West Company post.
Toupin was younger than Marie.
