Moving Robe Woman (Tȟašína Máni) — The Hunkpapa Lakota Woman Who Rode Into The Battle Of Little Bighorn After Learning Her Brother Had Been Killed
The free life on the northern plains was over.
Moving Robe Woman survived all of this — the winter campaign, the pursuit, the gradual collapse of the world she had known.
Where she went in the immediate aftermath of the battle and through the winter of 1876–77 is not precisely documented, but she eventually made her way to a reservation, as almost all the non-treaty Lakota ultimately did.
THE QUESTION OF HER LATER TESTIMONY
The testimonies and accounts attributed to Moving Robe Woman exist in a form that requires careful handling by historians.
