“Was she angry about the inheritance?”

“Not at all,” Samantha replied.

That answer genuinely surprised me.

“She signed a formal legal waiver during probate, explicitly affirming that she would not contest the will in any way,” Samantha revealed.

“Then why wasn’t her name listed anywhere in the legal paperwork I reviewed back then?”

“Her name was included in the court filings,” Samantha corrected gently.
