The Anzick-1 remains were repatriated and reburied in a ceremony that took place in 2014 after the genome publication.

The Ceremony And The Return

The reburial ceremony for the Anzick child took place in June 2014, not long after the Nature paper appeared.

The ceremony was conducted on the Anzick property in Montana and was attended by representatives of the Native nations that had been involved in the consultation process, by members of the Anzick family, and by some of the researchers.
