Were there butchery activities at the site that have not been fully characterized?

Are there additional artifacts or faunal materials in the unexcavated portions of the site that would change the picture?

These are not rhetorical questions left open for dramatic effect.

They are genuine scientific uncertainties — questions that could potentially be addressed by future work but that the existing evidence does not resolve.

Science does not fail by leaving questions open.

It fails by pretending to certainty it does not possess.
