The Apache Woman Who Fought Beside Geronimo — And The Forgotten Story Of Lozen, The Warrior History Almost Forgot

She survived, and after the catastrophe, she became part of a different phase of the Apache resistance.
The period following Tres Castillos saw the remaining Apache resisters — from multiple bands, including survivors from Victorio’s band and fighters from other Chiricahua groups — gradually coalescing around new leaders.
Among the most significant of these was Nana, an elderly but formidable leader who conducted a remarkable raid through New Mexico in the summer of 1881 despite being in his seventies.
