The Camera Behind the Books
Part Seven: Naomi
I called Naomi Okonjo at 6:15 in the morning.
We had been at university together.
She had done family law for eleven years by then, mostly in Hennepin County, and she is the only person I have ever met who is genuinely unshockable, and she has told me since that she went out into her hallway after that call and stood there for a while.
I talked for about nine minutes.
She did not interrupt.
