The Grandchildren He Never Knew
“Dominic…” the blonde woman whispered. “Who are those children?”
He didn’t answer.
He couldn’t.
I’d never seen him look so utterly destroyed.
For years, I’d imagined this exact moment. The moment he discovered what he’d thrown away. The moment he finally understood the price of his cowardice. The moment he realized that while he was busy erasing us, we’d built an entire life without him.
I stepped inside. The room went silent. Every eye turned toward me.
“Merry Christmas,” I said calmly.
No one said a word. Dominic looked like he could barely breathe. I placed one hand on Lily’s shoulder, then looked directly at the man who had abandoned us.
“I brought the grandchildren you never knew you had.”
The engagement ring box slipped from Dominic’s hand. Natalie gasped. Victoria staggered backward.
