He has described those forty-one minutes to me once, in my kitchen, three weeks later, in about five sentences, and I am going to put them down as close to exactly as I can.

Getting a drink, saying hello to whoever, leaving at ten.
That was the one I drove there intending to do.
“The second one was leaving.
