The Room My Father Built
That is the one people find surprising and it is the best decision I made.
I did not need to sleep in the room where a man had patted an empty duvet, and the back bedroom on the north side had better light anyway and had been my father’s before he got too bad for the stairs, and I moved into it in the June and it was, immediately, enormously better.
There is a version of recovery that says you should reclaim the room, and I am sure it works for somebody.
I moved, and I recommend moving.
