The Woman Who Could Tell the Tale
The dark liquid splattered like a black stain across the clean white floor.
“I said no,” I repeated, staring straight into his lying eyes.
Jared drew a slow breath to master his anger and turned away.
“Leave us alone,” he told the nurse.
