That is not what Julian did.
Julian barely looked up from whatever he was doing.
He heard me out with an expression of cool boredom, and then he told me, in a flat voice that made it clear the matter was already closed in his mind, that the walkout was my problem.
It was my table.
It was my responsibility to keep eyes on my customers.
And since I had failed to do that, the four hundred dollars would be coming out of my pocket.
