Hayden looked down at his sleeping son. “Let him say it. I’m getting my boy out of here alive.”

Chapter 8 — The Corridor

He moved toward the service exit with the carrier strapped to his chest. Before he reached the outer door, an overhead light snapped on. Spencer stood at the end of the corridor, a handgun in his hand and a cruel smile on his face.

“Look what we have here. The little soldier came back to steal our property.”

Hayden went still, watching Spencer’s hand. “He’s my son.”

“He’s Rosales blood. He belongs to us.”

“No,” Hayden said. “He’s Sabrina’s son. And he’s going to grow up free of your legacy.”
