THE View viewers were shocked when Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar managed to ‘forget they had their microphones on’ in an awkward situation on live TV.
Sunny Hostin, the 53-year-old host of the latest episode of The View, advertised her future participation in the Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival.
The ABC personality said on August 12 that she will be hosting a panel for Whoopi Goldberg’s upcoming film Till.
Appearing Sunny is Chinonye Chukwu, the director of Till.
Joy interrupted Sunny’s explanation of tickets and the festival website to ask Whoopi.
Joy Behar, 79, said, “Wait!” before she realized her microphone was still on.
Whoopi joined her co-star in laughter after saying, “No, I’ll be here,” in response to the chatter.
A disgruntled viewer tweeted about the harsh interruption after spotting the on-air awkwardness: “Sunny almost went through that whole announcement on #TheView.” Whoopi and Joy drowned out the details until a considerably louder conversation.
A commenter concluded: “They keep forgetting their mics are always on. #HotTopics.”
The ABC star revealed she will be hosting a panel for Whoopi Goldberg’s upcoming film Till on August 12.
Sunny will appear alongside Till directed by Chinonye Chukwu.
Joy intervened and asked Whoopi as Sunny provided information about tickets and the festival’s website.
Unaware that her microphone was still on, Joy Behar, 79, called out: “Wait!”
“No, I’ll be here,” Whoopi said in response to the chatter before joining her colleague in a laugh.
Sunny almost completed this announcement on #TheView, as one enraged fan noted in a tweet in response to the on-air nonsense.
“Until the closer details were drowned out by Whoopi and Joy’s much louder conversation,”

Viewers of the long-running show wondered if Joy’s time there might be coming to an end.
The 79-year-old comic recently made light of the fact that “money and geography” were the main factors in keeping her on the morning show, joking with ET.
The new panel members led to the belief among fans that “when they come back, they’re announcing Joy’s retirement.”
FIT THE NEWBIES
Alyssa Farah Griffin, 33, and Ana Navarro, 50, who were both guests, just landed full-time jobs on the show.
According to reports, Ana has agreed to co-host the daily chat program under a multi-year deal.

I left the show way before Whoopie physically and nastily literally threw Judge Janine screaming “get the F. …out of MY building. Oh there was even more to that, but I guess everyone knows if you don’t agree with Whoopie-doooo, you are DONE with the view. Oh for the days when Barbara ran the showl Totally difference show!!!
