Johnny Georges, a Christian irrigation farmer from Florida, recently appeared on the popular show “Shark Tank” to seek a $150,000 investment for his company, “Tree T-Pee.” His invention is a game-changer in plant irrigation, saving thousands of gallons of water for farmers every year. However, his business model raised concerns among the panel of investors. While it costs him $2.95 to make one Tree T-Pee, he sells it for only $4.50.
The judges suggested raising the price of his product to around $12, which would allow both Georges and investors to make more profit and scale the company to reach every potential customer in America. However, Georges refused to overcharge his buyers, who are fellow farmers struggling to make ends meet. He felt that it was against his moral principles to exploit their situation for his financial gain.
Although one investor backed out due to Georges’ decision, another offered to invest the full amount, praising his big heart, convictions, and spirit. It is admirable to see someone like Georges stick by his principles even under intense pressure to sell out. His refusal to compromise his values paid off in the end, earning him the deal of a lifetime.
As we watch Georges succeed, we are reminded of the importance of values and integrity over profits. It is easy to become blinded by the pursuit of money, but ultimately, our moral principles are what make us who we are. As consumers, it is important to support companies that prioritize ethics and responsibility over short-term financial gains. By doing so, we can create a better world for ourselves and future generations.
As a Born Again Christian, I am very proud of this farmer who refused to compromise his moral stance and beliefs for the Almighty Dollar. He was blessed in the end for this. He will be blessed for this beautiful decision.
Great to know that there are still some fine folks on this earth!!!!! Rt
