Kellie Pickler, a former contestant on “American Idol,” is mourning the loss of her husband of 12 years, who was found dead after leaving a happy message the day before.

Kellie Pickler’s love story with Kyle Jacobs was a fairytale come true.

The country singer and her husband were married for 12 years and their relationship was the envy of many.
On “American Idol,” Kellie Pickler dazzled Simon Cowell with her vocal prowess. The singer released her debut album “Small Town Girl” in 2007 and was nominated for a Country Music Association Award for it.

The “American Idol” star shared a picture of her and her husband on social media in March 2017. With June 15 being her grandmother’s birthday and the day her husband proposed to her, the actress said the day held a lot of meaning in her life.

On that particular day in 2010, Jacobs accompanied Pickler to Rosemary Beach, Florida, and assured her it was just a vacation. Pickler later developed melancholy as a result. But in the evening they had a special lunch together and walked along the beach at dusk.

When she found the little wooden box, the pianist had no idea that he had buried it in the sand; it seemed to have washed ashore. When Pickler opened it, she discovered a journal Jacobs had written for her, along with an engagement ring, her grandmother’s name, and a seashell engraved with the word “Faye”.

The moment he got down on one knee and proposed, she said, “Yes!” while they calmly watched the sunset. Strangely, Jacobs didn’t even think about Faye’s birthday and it looked like the late grandmother was blessing them.
When Pickler and Jacobs realized they hated half the people on the guest list, they were almost done planning the wedding, Pickler recalled in February 2011!

To get married on the beach on New Year’s Day, the couple dropped everything and eloped to the Caribbean island of Antigua. Pickler continued, “On their special day, the composer’s wife simply brought her wedding dress and clothes for him.”
It was the best day of her life because they had complete faith in God that everything would work out.

Jacobs’ wedding ring had the words “Put it on!” and the date of their wedding, “1-1-11,” was engraved on it so he could read it every time he took it off. Now that he has died unexpectedly, he will never wear the ring again.
On February 17, 2023, Jacobs’ body was found in their home in Nashville, Tennessee. That day, at 1:21 p.m., the composer’s home called 911 to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) and expressed a suspected suicide.

Firefighters found Jacobs dead from a gunshot wound in the top office or bedroom. Shortly after the incident, which the MNPD classified as an apparent suicide, the singer woke up.

Pickler claimed she went looking for her husband after she failed to notice him and was unable to open the door to an upstairs room; as a result, her personal assistant had to call 911. The songwriter was “dead” when Nashville firefighters and police arrived on the scene.

Sadly, Jacobs celebrated the career milestone by posting on Instagram the day before his death. Pickler’s partner congratulated Lee Brice on the success of his fifth studio album ‘Hello World’, noting that it has reached platinum status, and thanked everyone who contributed to its success in his latest blog post.

The record’s composer also said he felt “deeply honored” to be a “creative part” of it. Jacobs made his wife’s life worthwhile, but he failed to do the same for himself, which is why his death was so terrible.

Pickler sobbed while singing “I Wonder,” a ballad about a missing mother, on November 7, 2007. At the time, it was clear that the cause of his grief was the singer’s horrific family history.

When she was two years old, her mother abandoned her, leaving her in the custody of her father, a convicted felon. However, he was erratic in her upbringing and she was primarily raised by her paternal grandparents until she was reunited with her father in 2006 after his release from prison.

In July 2007, Pickler’s father was sentenced to fourteen months in prison. The following fall, she was dealing with a breakup she had when her relationship with Jordin Tootoo ended.

The musician’s mother often explained in interviews why she left her daughter, but they never communicated. Pickler argued that if her mother had simply apologized or acknowledged that she had not done her job well enough, she would have been forgiven.

As the actress left the stage, she emphasized her desire for her mother to support her and be there in her life. She came to terms with the things she couldn’t change and realized that she would never be able to bond with her parents the way she wanted, so she had to grieve, accept the pain, get angry, and cry.

A few months after her breakdown, she met Jacobs, with whom she worked on two tracks for her future album. Pickler claimed she didn’t know someone like him ever existed, someone who gave her confidence.

The celebrity saw her parents together in court for the first time because she had never witnessed what a relationship should look like. Jacob would convince her to let him be her Xanax when she needed it and comfort her, but he couldn’t save himself.

Pickler’s love story with Jacobs may have ended tragically, but their legacy will live on. The couple’s love for each other and their ability to find happiness despite their challenges will continue to inspire and uplift others for years to come.
