According to Matt Roloff, the host of “Little People, Big World,” his son Zach Roloff is preparing for a crucial surgical procedure.
On Instagram, the reality TV personality, who is 61 years old shared a photo of Zach and his children. In the caption, he mentioned that Zach, who is 32 years old is currently undergoing a shunt modification. A shunt is a tube surgically placed in the brain or spine to redirect fluid, for reabsorption. This procedure is commonly used to treat hydrocephalus.
While the specific treatment plan hasn’t been disclosed by the family a shunt revision could help relieve brain pressure and address symptoms like difficulty walking, mild cognitive impairment, and loss of bladder control.
Matt expressed gratitude, for everyone’s support. Asked for thoughts and prayers as Zach goes through this shunt modification. Tori, Zach’s wife also reached out to her social media followers requesting them to keep them in their prayers.
In a previously deleted Instagram Story, Tori, now 31, revealed, “We’ve learned that Zach’s shunt requires repair, and he’ll undergo surgery tomorrow.” The star of the TLC show mentioned that she initially hesitated to share this news with her fans but ultimately did so because
“I believe in the power of prayer, and we may need it tomorrow.” Tori went on to express, “Although they describe it as a routine procedure, we’re uncertain about what to expect, and both Zach and I are feeling anxious. Nevertheless, we have faith in the expertise and skill of his medical team. Your prayers and support mean the world to us.”
