About introductions and family photographs.
She wanted everything to look a certain way.”
I nodded.
“And I let her.”

“I didn’t want Ethan’s family to think I’d been pretending to be somebody I’m not.”
I looked at the woman in the wedding dress.
“Lauren, I never asked you to tell people about our difficult years.”
