“They’re private investments,” Joshua stammered.
“They were never joint assets.”
“They were funded by bonuses and returns earned during your marriage,” Colette countered.
“And several large sums were moved right after you filed for divorce.” She opened another folder — the transfers to Cheyenne’s business, invoices for consulting work that never happened, the apartment lease, luxury purchases on cards tied to the hidden accounts.
When she said Cheyenne’s name aloud, Wallace closed his eyes.
“Please tell me you did not divert family money to fund an affair,” he muttered.
Joshua didn’t answer.
There was no answer that survived the evidence on the table.
The mediator called a fifteen-minute recess.
