He simply stood over his brother with his chest heaving.

“I looked up to you,” Rhys said, and his voice broke on it.

“You were my brother.”

“You were never home,” she cried.

“I wasn’t home,” Rhys said, not even looking at her, “because I was working sixty-hour weeks to pay for the life you demanded.

And you used it to get to him.” He stepped back, out of her reach, and left her kneeling there on the ballroom floor.
