Colin Kaepernick has received an offer to play for a football team but has demanded a salary of $20 million to accept the offer

Success on the field for Colin Kaepernick; Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since that year. While he was a free agent to sign with any team, no organization offered him a contract. Because of his protests, Kaepernick has long claimed that NFL owners conspired to keep him out of the league.

Colin Kaepernick has long claimed collusion by the owners is the reason he is not employed by the NFL. In fact, after he decided to fight the NFL for not getting a contract, he was reportedly awarded $60-80 million in a settlement. He claims the owners decided not to make him an offer because of the uproar surrounding his decision to kneel during the national anthem.

However, Kaepernick recently received an offer to play pro football. It just wasn’t for the NFL. It was for a group in the fledgling Alliance of American Football League (AAF). All AFL players signed the same contract, a three-year non-guaranteed deal worth $250,000. While this is admittedly not the standard salary for an NFL player, Kaepernick had a chance to play football and showcase his talent during this time.

Not surprisingly, Kaepernick decided not to accept the offer. One of the AAF’s co-founders, Bill Polian, first revealed that Kaepernick had been contacted by the league. He told reporters: “I don’t know what happened, but he’s definitely not playing.

In the final year of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, Kaepernick decided to opt-out. He participated with the team this past year, starting in eleven games, although the 49ers triumphed in only one of those contests.

Kaepernick chose not to participate in the AAF, so he is still a free agent. It’s uncertain whether he’ll ever play in the NFL again, but his protest and the controversy it sparked are still the talk of the sports world and beyond.

  1. Again he has an over inflated opinion of himself. A legend in his own mind. He has no love of playing football. Only self promotion.
