The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is a solid laptop with some impressive features and specs. What makes Dell’s notebook really impressive is that it can be had for a low price. With a base price of around $1449, it starts at a level most people can afford.

We’ll talk about just how much value you get in just a minute, though. The display is a solid full HD one with a resolution of ‎3072 x 1920 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. That’s better than many notebooks in its class. The Dell Inspiron doesn’t skimp on other features, either.

It has up to 16GB of RAM, with memory modules that are easy to upgrade as your needs grow or change. There are 2 USB ports, so there’s plenty of room for connecting all your peripherals.

The machine comes with Bluetooth Wi-Fi 802.11ax dual-band MIMO technology which offers increased speed, security, and reliability over Wi-Fi 802.11n technology found in older laptops. Let’s dive into the full review of it!

Price

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 (starting at $1449) offers a variety of configuration options to suit your needs. This is our review model, had an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, 512GB SSD, and a Windows 11 Pro 64-bit operating system.

The specs allow for plenty of power for basic tasks and light gaming as well. One thing that stood out in particular with this laptop was the battery life which can last up to 9 hours depending on what you’re doing on it!

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is a strong performer and a good value, with above-average scores across the board. It’s not perfect, but it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a laptop that can power through your daily needs without breaking the bank.

Design and Build Quality

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 has a sleek, lightweight design with a glossy finish. The keyboard is backlit, and the screen is 16-inch. The design of the laptop is sleek and stylish but it’s not going to win any awards for thinness or lightness. The Inspiron has plenty of features to make up for that, though.

For starters, the touchpad on this laptop is far more responsive than I expected it to be! The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 has 2 USB 3.2 ports and one HDMI port for hooking up external displays. One other thing that I found quite interesting about this laptop was its fan noise–it sounds like a jet engine taking off from just a few feet away!

That might sound bad at first, but in reality, it isn’t too bad at all. All in all, this is an awesome machine with lots of power to handle anything you throw at it. For a laptop in this price range, the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is one of the better options. It has a very nice build quality and feels quite sturdy.

Display & Sound Quality

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is a solid laptop with plenty of power, great features, and a good price. This laptop comes with a display that measures 16 inches and features a full high definition (FHD) resolution.

The ‎3072 x 1920 pixel resolution means you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite programs, videos, and pictures without having to strain your eyes. With such a wide selection of colors, you won’t believe how real everything looks when viewed through Dell’s In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology.

Keyboard, Trackpad, and Other Input Devices

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus has a full-size, spill-resistant keyboard with well-spaced keys. It also includes a large trackpad that is responsive and accurate. The touchpad supports Windows 11 Pro gestures, including three-finger swipes to switch between open apps.

One drawback is that the touchpad can sometimes be too sensitive or unresponsive when used in certain positions. The Dell Inspiron’s keyboard has a full-size design with well-spaced keys and includes a large trackpad for ease of use. Overall, if you want a laptop with a nice keyboard, you’re not going to be disappointed.

The Dell Inspiron’s typing features make it feel more like a desktop computer and allow you to type quickly and efficiently. The trackpad is also very responsive and provides you with plenty of space to navigate around your Dell Inspiron.

The one problem with it is that it’s not always consistent. Sometimes, when you’re typing or using gestures, your trackpad will accidentally move locations on its own.

Dell’s Input devices are very responsive and accurate. The keyboard has a full-size design that makes typing effortless. Overall, if you want a solid keyboard and don’t mind being able to type more quickly than on your phone, you’ll like Dell’s keyboard options.

The touchpad is another story ad it works very well. Overall, I would say that if you want a nice keyboard and don’t care about a larger touchpad area to rest your hands on, then you’ll be happy with what Dell has provided for you here.

Specifications & Performance

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 comes with many ports, including two USB 3.2 ports, an HDMI out port, an Ethernet port, and even a standard audio jack. The laptop also includes 802.11ax wireless capabilities and Bluetooth 5.2 to ensure you stay connected anywhere you go.

Specs-wise, the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 has your typical 4.7GHz Intel Core i7-12700H CPU but goes one step further by adding NVIDIA GeForce GTX 3050 Ti graphics. The device has 512GB SSD and 16GB DDR5 RAM for storage. To top it all off, the laptop’s battery is about 9 hours on average so it’s ideal for travel or gaming sessions on the go!

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is a very solid choice if you’re looking for an affordable laptop that offers plenty of power. This configuration is plenty powerful for anything you’d use a Windows PC for, including video editing and gameplay. If gaming is your goal, you’ll have better results with something like a gaming laptop or an Nvidia graphics card.

But even at 1920p resolution, newer titles played smoothly on medium to high settings. It’s perfect for college students who need both productivity and playtime with their laptops.

Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 Specs make it powerful enough to handle school work while Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 ensures entertainment and games are never too far away from your fingertips.

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620  gives this laptop two thumbs up because it can’t be beaten when you consider its price tag. It also has dual storage options so you have more space when storing your data. If you are looking for a laptop for heavy editing and graphic design work, this could be the one for you!

Heat & Noise

One thing you will notice about the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is that it can get sometimes a little hot. The fans are powerful enough to cool the machine down, but if you’re doing something graphically intense, it will heat up. The bottom also gets fairly warm to the touch.

This isn’t a deal breaker by any means and doesn’t happen all the time, but it’s worth noting. If I’m using my laptop as a desktop replacement, I’ll just place it on top of my lap so that I don’t have to worry about this issue.

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus’ fan noise can be heard when they turn on at high speed but they do not spin at such speeds constantly. Dell has included a built-in ‘fan boost mode’ which you can access in the Dell Command Center app or in Windows 11 Pro settings to help combat the heat.

And though Dell does not make an exact statement about how much power the CPU produces, I can tell you from benchmarking with Geekbench 4 that it outperforms its Intel Core i7 processor competitors. In terms of cooling performance, Dell did include some nifty cooling technology to help keep your device running efficiently.

For starters, there are vents positioned in different locations on the sides and back panel where heat gathers most often. Dell’s engineers even implemented thermal padding around the hinges, keyboard, and exhaust ports which helps draw heat away from these areas. The result? You get less heat in your lap or on your desk.

Webcam & Features

The ‎2.03 MP camera on the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is above average, and while it’s not the best quality, it does provide a good way to chat with family members or friends. It also has a built-in mic that does pretty well with canceling out background noise.

The audio, as with most laptops, is just okay. The speakers do have a bit of bass to them, but they are still pretty standard. You can definitely listen to music on them, watch a movie or play any games. The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus comes in two colors, black, and Atlantic.

I prefer the red option because it gives a nice pop to an otherwise boring laptop! The design for this Dell model is sleek and modern looking. I love the texture of the keyboard which feels more tactile than other models I’ve tried. Typing for long periods of time isn’t uncomfortable thanks to the backlit keys and comfortable palm rest.

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus only weighs about 4.52 pounds so you can take it anywhere you go without too much hassle. There’s also plenty of space on the hard drive with a whopping 1 TB capacity. For someone who needs extra storage space, this is perfect!

I’m able to store my pictures, videos, and documents with ease. If you’re someone who uses their computer for entertainment purposes like playing video games, movies, or listening to music then it can avail many features from this Dell model.

Battery Life & Charging

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus has a built-in battery that can last up to nine hours on a single charge. However, the laptop does not have an integrated charging feature. To charge the laptop, you need to connect it to an external power source via a power adapter.

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 is a powerful laptop with plenty of features for both work and entertainment. The battery life is one of its most attractive features. Dell claims that it can last up to nine hours on a single charge and our tests show that, depending on your usage, it can last from eight to nine hours.

That said, don’t worry to plug in your laptop when you are traveling or heading out for a long day at work. If you do run low on battery life and forgot to bring your charger, then Dell offers an extra battery kit for this specific model. You can purchase a replacement battery at the Dell website for $119 USD and it takes just five minutes to install.

You will want to order two batteries if you plan on using the laptop for extended periods of time without access to a power source. This Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 found this Dell model to be a strong machine with a great set of specifications.
