Executives at ABC request that Whoopi Goldberg step down from her role on “The View.”

The network doesn’t want her association with the star to end on a sour note.

ABC insiders confirm the network has asked the longtime star of its hit show “The View” to step down amid a flurry of controversy. The request came directly from Art Tubolls, ABC’s Director of Talent, who approves all casting for more than 100 shows. Tubolls is no longer interested in dealing with Goldberg’s constant antics, according to an internal memo obtained by this publication.

Her insensitive remarks about the Holocaust, her constant rants about how Kyle Rittenhouse is a murderer, and her constant whining about Roe v. Wade being overturned make her a legal liability and increasingly unpopular with conservatives over 65 who don’t watch the show but I hope it will be canceled all the time, according to the note. “That’s negative exposure,” said Joe Barron, a spokesman for the talent department. “We’re paying her too much money to piss off people who aren’t even sitting in the audience.

TV Guide reports that “The View” is the top-grossing daytime TV show of all time, surpassing even the long-running public access program in Chicago. However, if Whoopi Goldberg is interested in filling the shoes of the late Larry Ferrari and his impressive musical skills, she may need some time to master his version of “Lary’s Theme” by Dr. Zhivago. There is currently no word on whether Goldberg intends to step down from “The View.”

It remains to be seen whether Goldberg will eventually step down from her role on “The View,” but one thing is certain: her legacy as a trailblazer and cultural icon will live on for years to come.

  1. I’m over 65. I refuse to watch the program BECAUSE she’s on it. She’s very negative, opinionated and tries to literally force her own opinions onto the table and audience.

  2. If you are afraid to piss off people who don’t watch the show? What is the issue? Why do you care about them? I love her and watch because of her.

  3. The entire cast should be let go and some people with common sense hired. I’ve never seen such a bunch of vitriolic women. I will not watch the show.
