Introduction

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is a budget phone that is available for purchase. The phone has a few compromises, but it’s still worth considering for those who are on a tight budget.

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has the following specifications: 4/8GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, a 2GHz octa-core processor, and Android 12 out of the box. It also features a 6.6-inch Super LCD display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a maximum brightness of 620 nits (though it can be changed).

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G concludes with the opinion that this phone is perfect for those looking for an affordable option with a lot of features included. If you’re in need of a new smartphone but don’t want to spend too much money, this may be just what you’re looking for.

Price

For just $299, you get a phone with 4GB of RAM, Android 12 OS, 64GB of storage, and NFC. Samsung’s new budget phone, the Galaxy A23 5G, is a solid option for those on a tight budget.

With its affordable price, solid build quality, and fingerprint reader built right into its sleek glass back, there is a lot to like about the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G. The battery life is only average at best but the cameras are surprisingly good for this price range.

One downside of this phone is that it does not have any sort of water resistance protection. All in all, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a budget phone that doesn’t skimp on features or style.

Design and build quality

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is made of plastic and it has a textured back with a soft, matte finish. The buttons are on the right side and they’re easy to press. The phone is not too thick and it feels well-made. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has a metal frame around the sides and curved plastic edges along the front and back.

The buttons don’t creak and have a nice tactile feel to them. On the left side, there’s a SIM card slot (1 card) and a volume rocker. On the bottom, there’s a USB-C port that supports fast charging as well as a headphones jack.

Inside, there’s a 5000 mAh battery and 8GB of RAM paired with 64GB storage which can be expanded by up to 512 GB via a microSD card. The phone also has a USB-C cable, an adapter, and a screen protector.

The front of the phone is taken up mostly by its 6.6-inch display with very thin bezels on each side. Above the display, there’s a selfie camera with a flash, earpiece, and sensors in between.

The back of the phone has a quad rear camera setup aligned vertically and a fingerprint scanner on the side-mounted of the phone. Overall, I was impressed by how sturdy this budget device felt.

What does the display look like?

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has a 6.6-inch FHD+ PLS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2408 resolution, and 400 ppi pixel density. The display is bright and vivid with excellent color reproduction and viewing angles.

It features an Always-On Display mode with customizable backgrounds, Night Mode for reading at night without turning on the screen, and Blue Light Filter for eye protection.

Samsung Galaxy A23 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has a large Infinity-U display, which features significantly smaller bezels compared to its predecessor, making it easier to hold and use with one hand. At this size, you’ll still have access to all of your favorite apps like Gmail and Google Maps in landscape mode.

You’ll also enjoy an immersive experience watching videos or playing games that take advantage of the larger screen size. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G’s display quality is impressive considering its price point.

How well do pictures look on this phone?

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G includes a 50MP wide main camera with a 5MP ultrawide lens and 2MP with both macro & depth lenses. Pictures taken with the camera look great on this phone as well, with excellent detail and contrast in outdoor shots, though color reproduction is a little muted indoors without an additional light source.

The video looks good too, but there’s noticeable graininess when filming at night or indoors. It was also easy to switch between photos and videos while recording, which wasn’t always possible on other phones.

Low-light images are still not ideal for capturing fine details like text messages or social media posts, so it’s best to snap those during the day if you can.

Images from the main camera come out crisp and clear even in low lighting conditions, making this device perfect for photography enthusiasts who don’t want to have to use their phone flash all the time.

What are selfies in low light like?

Samsung’s newest budget option, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G, is a solid choice for your first step into the world of smartphones. One of the reasons you might buy a new phone is its camera. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has an 8 MP front-facing shooter.

If you take lots of selfies, you’ll find that they can be a bit grainy in low light, but otherwise, they turn out great. There are plenty of things to do with this camera that are pretty standard like portrait mode and filters.

You also have built-in options for panoramic shots or time-lapse videos. You can even shoot slow-motion video at 30 frames per second at 1080p resolution!

All those specs make it easy to use this phone as your primary camera. If you’re willing to spend a little extra, you can choose a phone with an even better camera. You’ll find that some of these devices feature more megapixels and overall higher quality.

However, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G offers a great experience on all fronts while still being affordable. The camera is a significant part of any phone and the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G doesn’t disappoint.

It takes videos at 1080P HD resolution and has a wide-angle lens, which helps capture more of the scene. It also has fast autofocus, so you can keep up with your kids as they run around.

The only downside to this camera is that it’s not very good in low-light situations. So if you’re taking pictures outside or in the evening, make sure there’s plenty of light or you might end up with some blurry or grainy shots.

Software & Performance

Samsung’s new mid-range device, the Galaxy A23, offers a lot of high-end features for a surprisingly low price. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has a 6.6 Super PLS LCD 120Hz display with a resolution of 1080×2408 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9.

The phone has the Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm) Octa chipset and is powered by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G ships with Android 12 with Samsung’s OneUI 4.1 skin on top. The device is available in four colors – Black, White, Peach, and Blue.

It weighs 197 grams, measures 165.4 x 76.9 x 8.4 mm, and has two SIM card slots for both nano SIM cards or one nano SIM card and one microSD card slot for up to 1TB of additional storage. The phone is available for purchase through Samsung, Amazon, and other retailers.

We are impressed with the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G Specs and feel that this is a solid budget option. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is also surprisingly durable given its lower cost. In addition to being affordable, it offers many high-end features like a curved display, dual cameras, fast charging capabilities, and more.

Audio & Sound

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has a respectable sound system. It’s not the best, but it’s also not the worst. The sound is rich and full. It has a decent bass that doesn’t distort at high volumes.

The speaker placement does leave something to be desired, though. The speakers are located on the bottom of the phone, which means you’ll have to angle your hand awkwardly to hear anything while holding it horizontally.

If you use it vertically or prop it up with your hand on top, this won’t be an issue. Otherwise, you’ll need to make sure the volume is turned up fairly loud. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has a headphone jack for those who prefer wired headphones.

There’s no built-in stereo audio so it might be worth checking out some external options if you’re looking for more enhanced audio quality. However, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G still offers plenty for music lovers.

Battery Life & Charging

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has a 5,000mAh battery, which is on the larger side of a modern phone. It supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ technology, which can charge the phone from 0-100% in about an hour and a half.

In my testing, it was able to provide up to eight hours of screen-on time before hitting the 20% threshold and requiring another charge. Battery life should last through most people’s day without needing to recharge it. For this price point, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G packs some serious specs and performance.

If you’re looking for a phone that has solid battery life and performance and is still pretty reasonably priced, you’ll want to consider checking out Samsung’s latest release.

It’s not as good as phones in its own Galaxy S series or other flagships from Samsung and others, but it offers solid performance at an affordable price. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is a great budget option if you don’t want to spend more than $300 for your new phone.

Final Verdict – Should you buy it?

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is a budget-friendly option for those looking for a new phone. While it doesn’t have the latest specs, it does have impressive battery life and solid performance. If you’re looking for a phone that won’t break the bank, this is a great choice.

It has an expandable memory card slot (up to 1 TB) as well as a 2.5D Curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 screen with an edge-to-edge display. Plus, it comes in four colors to suit your taste: Black, White, Peach, and Blue!

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G offers excellent value for your money. In our opinion, it’s one of the best phones you can buy at its price point.

  1. With its competitive price, the Samsung Galaxy A23 offers impressive features. The bright screen, NFC capability, and fingerprint reader enhance the overall usability of the phone. The long battery life and inclusion of a headphone jack are definite advantages. However, some users have faced issues with receiving phones that come with incompatible chargers, causing inconvenience. Additionally, the lack of compatibility with certain mobile carriers has been a downside for a few buyers. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Samsung Galaxy A23 remains a reliable and cost-effective choice for budget-conscious consumers
